She graduated from Government Medical College Amritsar, India in 2001 and completed her postgraduate training in U.K. She obtained membership of The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2008 and has been working as NHS consultant since 2016. She is passionate about women's health and is lead for female genital mutilation currently at UHB and has been lead for Gynaecology governance and guidelines at UHB.

She has wide range of expertise in general and benign Gynaecology. Her special interests include Gynaecology and early pregnancy scanning, office gynaecology, menstrual dysfunction, perimenopausal health and laparoscopic surgery.
